The uMoya project is a community-based project that focuses on multiple elderly, disabled, abandoned and sickly men and women in Khayelitsha. It is a project for those who believe in loving through boundaries and restoring hope and dignity to those abandoned by society, to take up the call to serve. We create a fun and safe space for volunteers to engage with the marginalised and encounter the humanity in our brothers and sisters, and in ourselves. We take a group of volunteers to the Missionaries of Charity Home, in Khayelitsha, where we serve 50 differently-abled men and women. We facilitate a variety of interactive sessions as a way of building relationships and starting the dialogue.
